What we are learning—and striving to master—is not just about knowing techniques or adding skills to our repertoire. It is about translating that knowledge into meaningful clinical impact.

The true value of advancing in regional anesthesia, fascial plane blocks, and perioperative care lies in improving patient outcomes—better pain control, reduced opioid use, earlier extubation, and shorter ICU and hospital stays.

Learning is only worthwhile when it makes a real difference where it matters most: at the patient’s bedside.

Pecs I & Pecs II Blocks – Essential Tools in Breast & Chest Wall Analgesia

Ultrasound-guided Pecs I and Pecs II blocks are simple, effective, and opioid-sparing techniques for breast and anterior chest wall surgeries.
🔹 Pecs I – LA between pectoralis major & minor (targets pectoral nerves).
🔹 Pecs II – Extension into the plane above serratus anterior (covers T2–T6 intercostals + axillary region).

A valuable addition to modern multimodal analgesia practice.

EMERGANEST Regional Anesthesia Course 1.0 – Module 2 Successfully Concluded!

Alhamdulillah, we have successfully completed our 2nd Module and 3rd On-Site Hands-On Session of the EMERGANEST Regional Anesthesia Course 1.0 2K26

This module was delivered through:
✔️ Two structured online academic sessions
✔️ One intensive on-site hands-on workshop
This session focused on Anterior Thoracic and Abdominal Wall Blocks, covering a comprehensive spectrum of perioperative analgesia, including:
🔹 Thoracic surgery analgesia
🔹 Post-operative pain management for breast surgery
🔹 Analgesic strategies for rib fractures
🔹 Regional techniques for sternotomy pain
🔹 Analgesia option for patien under goin laparoscopic or open abdmonial surgeries
🔹 Inguinal hernia surgeries umder regional Anesthesia

The goal remains clear — to bridge the gap between theory and real-time ultrasound-guided clinical application. The enthusiasm, engagement, and scanning confidence of the participants continue to grow with each module, which is truly encouraging.

Grateful to all participants for their dedication and discipline.
Looking forward to Module 3 — where we take it a step further.

*Important Update*

We have received an exceptionally enthusiastic response to this course, which clearly reflects the growing eagerness among anesthesiologists to learn and practice Regional Anesthesia. Despite its proven benefits, structured and specialized training opportunities in regional anesthesia remain limited, and in many settings it is still practiced in a restricted manner or through trial-and-error approaches.
The level of interest has been truly encouraging, with colleagues reaching out not only locally but also from Lahore, Faisalabad, and other distant regions to be part of this initiative.
In view of this strong response, we are enrolling senior and experienced faculty for the first course to ensure a comprehensive, in-depth, and high-quality learning experience. Following faculty meetings and academic discussions, it was also unanimously agreed that anesthesia residents must be given focused opportunities, as regional blocks constitute a significant component of examinations, and ultrasound scanning for blocks has now been incorporated into TOACS stations as well.
Therefore, in addition to the advanced course, we are pleased to announce that EMERGANEST is planning a Basic Regional Anesthesia Course exclusively for residents. This will be a four-month structured program, scheduled to be initiated in March (Insha’Allah).
Further details will be shared soon.
