Bellis perennis
With permission from Homoeopathy for Health in Africa (HHA), I am sharing a story about the impact of HHA.
HHA worked with a hospital here in Tanzania to do a pilot study.
Patients at the hospital who needed abdominal surgery, especially caesarian sections (c-sections), all received their surgeries in a 2-day period.
After surgery, half of the patients received a daily dose of homoeopathic Bellis Perennis 12c. The other half received a placebo.
The results were shocking. Without knowing how the group was divided, the doctors could see the difference between those who received the homoeopathic Bellis and those who did not.
Those who received the Bellis were alert, moving around, showering, etc. Those who did not were lying still with only their eyes moving or some other small movements.
After a few days, the allopathic doctors ended the study. Why?? Because they realized it was unethical to let half their patients suffer!! So, the doctors gave daily doses of Bellis also to the patients who had previously only received the placebo. Those patients also recovered faster.
All patients who received daily doses of Bellis were discharged from the hospital much sooner than regular patients, saving much patient suffering and also saving scarce resources at the hospital.
Each patient was given a bottle of Bellis to take home and use for a month.
At the follow-up visits at the end of the month, the doctors were surprised to see that the patients had no problems or infections in their recovery. This would be remarkable anywhere in the world, but even more so in Africa where clean water, proper wound dressings and proper nutrition are harder to find.
After that study, the hospital continued to administer Bellis to abdominal surgery patients and noticed that if the patient also took a dose before surgery, then the post-surgery recovery was even easier.
Common use in Homoeopathy
Bellis perennis has been used in folk medicine to treat upper respiratory tract infections, gastritis, stomachache, diarrhea, bleeding, rheumatism, common colds, and headache
