🎯The 5 Levels of Leadership
Level 1: Position:
✅Position is a poor substitute for influence. Position is not leadership. Many people have positions; few have the ability to lead.
✅A title doesn't make a leader. Having 'CEO' or 'PhD' attached to your name doesn't mean much if you don't add value. Great leaders earn their influence, one follower at a time.
✅You don't lead by pointing and giving orders. You lead by example
Level 2: Permission:
✅People won't follow you unless they trust you. Trust is the root of permission to lead. The key to this level is developing relationships. Leadership is not about titles, positions, or flowcharts. It is about relationships.
✅Leadership is not about being in charge. It is about taking care of those in your charge.
Level 3: Production:
✅Nobody achieves anything great by giving the minimum. No teams win championships without making sacrifices and giving their best."
✅Results alone do not make a leader. There are plenty of manipulative, drive-at-any-cost people who produce results, but who leave behind burnt-out teams and damaged relationships.
✅The challenge of leadership is to create change and facilitate growth.
Level 4: People Development:
✅The highest goal of leadership is to develop leaders, not gain followers or do work.
✅People are an organization's greatest asset. Tap into their potential and bring out the best in them, and you also bring out the best in the organization.
✅Showing weakness is OK. You don't have to pretend you know everything
Level 5: Pinnacle:
✅True leadership isn't about titles, positions, or money. It's about impact, influence, and inspiration.
✅Leadership is the capacity and will to rally men and women to a common purpose and the character which inspires them to sacrifice for it.
✅Level 5 is the ability to inspire loyalty to a cause greater than oneself
