"Antibiotics Resistance Exhibition" Held at KUST Kohat

The Department of Pharmacy at Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST) organized an informative exhibition on Antibiotics Resistance. The event was inaugurated by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nasir ud Din, accompanied by deans and heads of various departments.

Addressing the students, the chief guest, Prof. Dr. Nasir ud Din, emphasized the importance of active participation in such fruitful activities and encouraged them to disseminate this knowledge to the general public.

The Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy motivated and appreciated the students for their efforts in promoting awareness about this noble cause. The Chairman of the Department of Emergency Care also shared valuable insights with the students.

Special thanks to Dr. Fawad, the focal person for this event, and the chief organizers, Kifayat Ullah Khan and Musharraf Hassan, for their tremendous work in making this event a success.✨

۱۲ دسمبر پروٹیسٹ کے بعد خیبرپختونخوا حکومت نے فارمیسی سروسز پالیسی کے لئے کمیٹی کا نوٹیفکشن جاری کردیا۔ کمیٹی میں وائی پی سی کی طرف سے کور کمیٹی ممبرز میڈم سہرش جبین اور جنید اقبال کو شامل کردیا گیا ہے جو فارمیسی سروسز پالیسی پر حکومت کے ساتھ معاونت کرے گی اور اس کے ساتھ ساتھ وقتاً فوقتاً پیش رفت، اور فارماسسٹ کمیونٹی کی نقطہ نظر کوبھی دیکھے گی۔

The administrative heads of the health department (current) are responsible for the continued delay in the approval of the Pharmacy Services Policy. Despite repeated assurances and commitments, we are met with procrastination and unconvincing justifications.

The PTI government, which has prioritized reforms in the health sector, appears to be limiting its efforts to rhetoric rather than implementing tangible measures

*World Antibiotics Week (WAAW)*

*Theme:* "Handle Antibiotics with Care"

*Dates:* November 18-24

*Objective:* Raise awareness about antibiotic resistance and promote responsible use.

*Statistics:*

- 700,000 deaths/year due to antibiotic resistance (WHO)

- 10 million deaths projected by 2050 if no action (Review on Antimicrobial Resistance)

- 30% unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions (CDC)

- 70% bacterial infections resistant to 1+ antibiotics (WHO)

*Key Messages:*

1. Use antibiotics only when prescribed by a healthcare professional.

2. Complete full antibiotic courses.

3. Never share antibiotics.

4. Practice good hygiene.
