Dr. Nauman Rahim Khan is serving as an Associate Professor in the department of Pharmacy KUST Kohat, served as Chairman Department of Pharmacy KUST, currently serving as a Chairman Department of Physical Therapy KUST, Director QEC at Gomal University, remained member of Curriculum Review Committee HED KPK, as a Pharmaceutics Expert on panel of Pharmacy Council of Pakistan for curriculum updation/development, and currently also serving as a member Federal Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, having a total of 19 years of Teaching experience.
He graduated with degree of B. Pharm with 1st class 1st position (Gold Medal) in 2006 from Gomal University, and then started his teaching career as a lecturer at the same alma mater in 2007. He then pursued M.Phil (Pharmaceutics) at Gomal University, and then PhD at Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM Malaysia in 2016. He then joined KUST as an Associate Professor in 2021.
He have till now secured a total of 13 research grants (including HEC NRPU, collaborative research projects with International Universities).
He has also been awarded Tefarco-innova Pharmatech Scientist Award in 2016 for outstanding research achievements, Gold Medal award at Malaysia Technology Expo 2017, Bioeconomy Award Malaysia 2016, and Presidential Scholarship Award for the year 2006 by Ministry of Health, Islamabad.
He have 1 registered patent, 1 patent applied, 50+ Q1 research publications (with cumulative impact factor of 130+), 2 book chapters, and serving as an associate editor of number of Q1 Pharmaceutics Journals including prestigious Drug Development and industrial Pharmacy, AAPS PharmSciTech etc. on his credit.
He have successfully supervised and graduated 3 PhD and 12 M.Phil scholars, and currently supervising 4 PhD scholars.
His research domain includes nanomedicine, microwave treated polymers in drug delivery, skin tissue regeneration (polymer scaffolds for acute, chronic, burn and diabetic wounds), active drug targeting, and Transdermal drug delivery systems.
He is currently in joint research venture talk with Shanghai Jiao Tong University China for a mutual research project focusing targeted yet least expensive drug delivery approach for treating colon cancer.
