📢 **Statement from Pakistan Association of Surgical Technology** 📢

The Pakistan Association of Surgical Technology (PAST) strongly condemns the Government of Pakistan's decision to merge the Allied Health Professionals Council (AHPC) into the Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC). This action is an injustice to thousands of Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) who play a crucial role in Pakistan’s healthcare system.

We demand the immediate restoration of the Allied Health Professionals Council or the creation of an independent regulatory body that recognizes the specific needs, skills, and importance of these professions. Surgical technologists, along with other allied health professionals, deserve to have their voices heard and their roles respected within the healthcare system.

We urge the government to reconsider this decision and engage with stakeholders to ensure the integrity and growth of the Allied Health sector, which is vital for the future of healthcare in Pakistan.

انا للّٰہ وانا الیہ راجعون

We regret to announce that Dr. Abdul Hafeez Kandhro, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Medical Technology, JSMU, has passed away today. His burial will take place in his ancestral town. The JSMU community is deeply shocked and saddened by this loss and extends prayers for his maghfirat.

Vice Chancellor Professor Amjad Siraj Memon expressed his grief, stating, "We have lost a dedicated educator and valued colleague. Our prayers are with his family."

Registrar Dr. Azam Khan said "This is a significant loss for JSMU. Our deepest condolences to his family."

Allied Health Professionals Council of Pakistan
Allied Health Professional Council Governor of Pakistan has stopped all healthcare commissions across the country from sealing labs and practice health facilities to take action against Allied Health Professionals. God willing, the council will continue to do its work, advisory committees will also be formed very soon, and the scope of practice license will fulfill the promise made to our community by creating uniform service structure, training, examination and registration rules.
Degree programs of allied health professionals are being conducted in more than thirty different fields. An advisory committee board of 7 members of each field will be formed and they will make the scope of practice of their field and present it to the council after the approval of the council. Everyone will work according to their own domain
