Have you ever had a shiver down your spine when someone suddenly touches you?
Or that exhaustion you feel inside when something excites you, even without talking?
Here it is: that is not “just” a feeling.
It's your nervous system that turns on the lights.
Inside you, billions of little sparks like this one pass witness. An impulse starts from a cell, runs along the asson, jumps between Ranvier's knots and reaches the muscle.. And in the exact moment it arrives, you move, feel, react.
There is no magic.
There is poetic biology.
For those who are not in the profession: every move you make, from flapping your eyelashes to running, is generated by an electrical message that travels at a speed of up to 120 meters per second. Every node, every cell, every sheath is a piece of that perfect brain-body dialogue.
When one of these stages is interrupted (stress, pain, compression), communication slows down.. and the body "loses signal".
For clinical colleagues: jump conduction along myelin fibers, afferent neural integration and motor synaptic plasticity. Alterations in myelization, excitement threshold or synaptic synchronization result in motor dissynergies and perceptive disorders.
Imagine rehabilitation as guided neuroplasticity, which gives the system back the ability to communicate.
So what ?
The body doesn't forget. But sometimes.. is disconnecting. Our job is just this: to reconnect what life has disconnected.
Every gesture is a thought become current.
Give this a try!
Close your eyes, move a finger slowly and think of the route that sign took to get there. Do you realize how much intelligence is behind every little movement?
The body doesn't move by accident.
It's only the brain that writes you a message in electrical code every day.
