A young patient with history of fever, weight loss, abdominal mass shifted from medical unit with the working diagnosis of chronic malaria and pancytopenia.
Spleenectomy was planned under full protocol regarding prep for all cell units..
ALHAMDULILLAH, It went very well and we were able to retrieve it within no time.. .

Spleen weighs 5kg, we found 6 spleniculi too....
Thanks to anesthesia ppl too Qadeer and dr Asif
The pt is doing good so far....

As a surgeon you have to have a controlled arrogance. If it's uncontrolled, you kill people, but you have to be pretty arrogant to saw through a person's chest, take out their heart and believe you can fix it. Then, when you succeed and the patient survives, you pray, because it's only by the grace of God that you get there.

Operated on a young male who landed in ER after some sort of accidental blast.....

Following are the injuries, repair of diaphragm, kidney, colon and stomach was done............... ALHAMDULILLAH recovery went smooth and he was discharged on 10th POD...

An interesting case of
Another case done during residency......

Omental torsion is a rare cause of acute abdomen.
Omental torsion can be either primary (idiopathic) or secondary, depending on the predisposing factors that cause it. Omental torsion is responsible for 0.1% of laparotomies performed for acute appendicitis in children. This is a case of male adult who presented with acute abdomen and in whom omental torsion was the definitive surgical diagnosis.

Had operated on a middle age man, with history of repeated attacks of abdominal pain and indigestion, during my residency 🙂🙂.... So this is basically jejunal diverticulitis for which resection of the affected segment was done....

Diverticular disease is a disease of old age and of Western society. Uncommon under the age of 40, the prevalence of diverticulosis increases from 5% below the age of 40 to 65% in patients 65 years of age or older. Diverticula are predominantly found in the left colon, with 90% involving the sigmoid colon and 15% involving right-sided colonic diverticula. The incidence of diverticula of the small bowel is far less common than that of the large intestine, and within the small bowel, duodenal diverticula are five times more common than jejuno-ileal diverticula.

6 years beautiful child having polydactyly since birth....
Had done excision of extra toe

kid is fine and happy
Luckily this toe was not having any function or extra tendon, if so u have to tie the tendon to the adjacent phalynx....
P.s Fourth toe appears to be adducted due to dressing in post-op x-ray...🙂🙂
