Heel Pain? It might not be what you think.
Many people confuse Plantar Fasciitis with Achilles Tendinopathy, but these two conditions are different.
Plantar Fasciitis
• Pain usually occurs at the bottom of the heel
• Pain is sharp during the first steps in the morning
• After walking for a while, the pain often becomes dull or improves
Common causes:
• Long standing
• Obesity
• Improper footwear
Achilles Tendinopathy
• Pain starts from the back of the heel
• It can travel upward toward the calf muscles
• Often caused by overuse, especially in people who do a lot of running or cardio training
🔹 Main Difference:
Plantar Fasciitis → Bottom of the heel
Achilles Tendinopathy → Back of the heel
If you are experiencing heel pain, early physiotherapy treatment can prevent it from becoming chronic.
