When I was young I used to worry about other people not liking me.

Years later my first therapist Joyce, (I’ll never forget her she changed my life) asked me,

“Barb, do you like everyone?” I said no. She replied, “Then why are you worried about everyone liking you? That’s impossible!”

It was the biggest freedom to finally understand that there’s nothing wrong with you just because someone doesn’t like you.

Trying to make everyone happy is impossible.

What really matters is whether or not you like yourself.

Focus your energy there, and never apologize for being you.💖

Be careful who you let plant seeds in your mind. Some people will hand you their bitterness like it’s truth and expect you to carry it like it’s yours.

Other people’s grudges are not your responsibility. Their pain, their jealousy, their insecurities, that’s their work to do, not yours to inherit.

Judge people based on your experience, not someone else’s wounds. Stay clear. Stay kind. Stay free. Because once you start hating people by association, you stop thinking for yourself. And that’s exactly how you lose who you are.
