A farewell lunch was held in honor of Prof. Dr. Moin Ahmed Ansari, Dean of Medicine and Professor of Psychiatry at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS)/Sir Cowasji Jehangir Institute Hyderabad, on the occasion of his retirement.

The event was attended by old colleagues and fellows from the Departments of Medicine and Surgery, who expressed their heartfelt sentiments for Prof Moin Ansari. They recalled his invaluable services, mentorship, and lifelong dedication to the field of psychiatry.

Former postgraduate trainees/ Consultant, as well as the new trainees, also paid their deep respects to Prof Ansari, highlighting the inspiration they have received from his guidance and teaching.

The farewell lunch was a warm gathering filled with respect, gratitude, and admiration for a teacher, mentor, and leader who has left an unforgettable mark on the institution and on the lives of his students and colleagues.

پاکستان سائیکاٹرک سوسائٹی پنجاب، راولپنڈی چیپٹر کے تحت جی پی ز کی تربیتی پروگرام منعقد ہوا۔ اس موقع پر انفارمیشن سیکریٹری پی پی ایس پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف کمال نے شرکاء کو بتایا کہ پاکستان میں ہر تیسرے یا چوتھے فرد کی ذہنی صحت متاثر ہوتی ہے۔ انہوں نے جی پیز کو پی پی ایس کی جانب سے پورے ملک میں جاری سیمینار سیریز کے بارے میں بھی آگاہ کیا۔

پروگرام میں ڈاکٹر عظیم راو نے وضاحت کی کہ جب جسمانی صحت متاثر ہوتی ہے تو اس کے ساتھ اکثر ذہنی مسائل جیسے ڈپریشن، اینگزائٹی اور دیگر نفسیاتی امراض بھی پیدا ہو جاتے ہیں۔

اس تربیتی پروگرام میں جی پی سوسائٹی کے صدر ڈاکٹر منظور احمد نے بھی شرکت کی اور پی پی ایس کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔

The Pakistan Psychiatric Society successfully conducted an awareness and educational session at DHQ Hospital Mansehra, aimed at enhancing the knowledge of local general practitioners and medical professionals regarding anxiety and depressive disorders.

The event featured insightful and interactive presentations by renowned psychiatrists,
Prof. Dr. Aftab Alam Khan and Dr. Syed Tahir Shah, who addressed key aspects of diagnosis, management, and common misconceptions surrounding these prevalent mental health conditions.

The session was well-attended, drawing participation from over 50 doctors representing various medical specialties. Through case-based discussions and evidence-based guidance, the speakers emphasized the importance of early recognition, appropriate referrals, and holistic patient care.

Prof. Dr. Wajid Ali Akhunzada, President of the Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS), appeared online and delivered a brief talk, highlighting an upcoming series of workshops that the society will conduct nationwide.

This initiative provided an excellent platform for professional development, promoted interdisciplinary collaboration, and played a vital role in breaking the stigma associated with mental health. Participants appreciated the engaging format and expressed a strong interest in future training opportunities.
