Welcome to Surgical Unit-I, Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College. We are a small but diverse and experienced team of four consultants and one junior surgeon with the additional benefit of having a female consultant in our group as well.
Ours is a 65-bed teaching unit based in Akhtar Saeed Trust Hospital, EME Society, Lahore and offers learning opportunities at an undergraduate level for house job training and is also recognised by the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan for the purpose of offering post-graduate fellowship training in General Surgery.
Since our inception in late 2017, we have performed over 9,000 major and minor surgeries on patients with a wide variety of surgical disorders. Our specialites include Head and Neck, Endocrine, Breast, Hepatobiliary, Upper Gastrointestinal, Colorectal and Hernia surgeries. Laparoscopic and Open surgical options are both offered at our unit for benign and malignant disorders (subject to fulfiment of our surgical selection criteria).
