Here are some tips for dental ergonomics for patient positioning :
- The patient's chair should be higher than the operator's chair.
- The distance between the operator's eyes and the patient's tooth must be between 35 to 45 cm.
- The patient must be in a comfortable position.
- The position of the patient will depend on the procedure type and location of the working site.
- Any existing medical conditions of the patient must be accommodated.
- The ideal patient positioning for treatment in the maxillary arch is the supine position.
- When working in the mandibular arch, it is ideal to have the patient in a 45° semi-supine position.
- The patient's head should be positioned at the edge of the headrest.
- For Mandibular teeth, the chin should be in a down position.
- For Maxillary teeth, the chin should be in an up position.

A 21 year old male patient presented in UCMD operative department with the cheof complaint of aesthetic issue.
There was deep class v in 11,12,13,21,22,23 along with class iii in 12 .
The patient was about to leave for international flight .and said they have 1hour maximum.so according to the dental history of patient he use to stay up late at night for her computer work and use to drink colas ,energy drinks and junk food.
These energy drink affect the enamels .upper layer on the teeth and tend to expose the dentin along with the complaint of sensitivity by the time .
So as for PT's ttt plAn according to the short time span ,the issue of extensive class v was resolved ist by using infiltration and Teflon tape for retraction of gums purpose with slow speed hand piece for caries excavation..after excavation composite B2 shade was used according to the colour of patient's teeth. And pt was further advised to follow the rest of the ttt .plan .

Indication of Antibiotics in endodontics

*What’s are the differences between inflammation and infection?
Infection generally has some aspects of inflammation because we get inflammation when we have Infection. BUT we can definitely get inflammation without infection.
•If you had an injury such as a broken arm. You would get pain and swelling and not be able to move the joint. But this is NOT infection only the inflammatory process.

°So as dentists we need to be experts of when we have inflammation and recommending anti-inflammatory medications and when there is active infection.

°The signs of infection are-
patient has a temperature, patient has lymphadenopathy, the patient has a feeling of malaise or feels generally unwell (NOT just has a sore tooth or gum!!!), the swelling is spreading far from the site of the problem. THIS IS WHEN YOU NEED TO INCISE DRAIN AND IN IMMUNOSUPPRESSED PATIENTS (maybe …maybe prescribe antibiotics)
If the infection is draining like in a sinus tract you DO NOT NEED TO PRESCRIBE ANTIBIOTICS. And you should never prescribe them for symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.

The signs of inflammation are

Swelling at the site of injury, Pain near the site of injury. Discomfort at the site of injury. No fever !
In these situations anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen are you best friend
