I had the opportunity to present a case on the Role of Arthrogram in Closed Reduction of DDH during the fortnightly academic meeting organized by the POA Lahore Chapter at The Children’s Hospital, Lahore.

The case-based discussion highlighted how arthrography guides decision-making during closed reduction and helps achieve safer, more accurate reductions for our young patients. I also shared constructive feedback on the case performed by the department alongside with Head of the Department, Dr Abdul Latif Shahid.

Grateful to be part of such academic platforms that encourage collaborative learning and continuous improvement in paediatric orthopaedics.

Treated a child with a femoral shaft fracture using the TENS (Titanium Elastic Nailing System) technique.

A closed reduction was performed over the traction table, and the fracture was accurately aligned and fixed with flexible titanium nails — ensuring stability, early mobilization, and a smooth recovery.

Minimally invasive techniques like TENS help children heal faster and return to normal activities with excellent functional outcomes. 🌟

👣 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐩𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐭 (𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐕)

This young patient had a relapse of clubfoot deformity (CTEV), making walking and shoe-wearing difficult again. Today, we performed a corrective surgery using the Ala Carte approach — a customized technique where each component of the deformity is addressed individually.
✅ Lateral column shortening through cuboid decancellation
✅ Tibialis anterior transfer for flexible adductus correction
✅ Percutaneous tendoachilles release for mild equinus deformity
✅ Cavus correction to restore the normal arch and foot alignment

Every clubfoot is different — and even after initial correction, relapses can occur. With modern surgical methods, children can regain a plantigrade, pain-free, and functional foot, allowing them to walk and play confidently again.

I feel privileged to help restore better mobility and brighter smiles in these young patients. 👣💙

I’m glad to share that I’ll be serving as Chief Organizer and Faculty for the upcoming Live DDH Surgery Workshop at The Children’s Hospital & University of Child Health Sciences, Lahore, on 5th November 2025.

This workshop will focus on Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) — a condition where a baby’s hip joint doesn’t develop properly, which can lead to limping or long-term disability if not treated early.

Through this event, we aim to train young orthopaedic surgeons in the latest surgical techniques so that more children can receive timely, effective care.

It’s a privilege to work with a dedicated team of professionals committed to improving paediatric orthopaedic care in Pakistan.
