As the Pakistan's first and largest Orthopedic and Spine Center, we house Punjab’s first Cyberknife Robotic Radio Surgery System. Ghurki Trust Hospital is the first purpose built Charitable project of "Haji Muhammad Asghar Ghurki Trust". Registered under Socities Registration Act, XXI of 1860, Ref No. The Charity hospital provides basic modern health facilities to non affording patients free of cost and on subsidized rates to the affording patients. Situated across the BRB Canal, surrounded by 110 villages with a population of 1.2 million. The hospital services include Emergency, Out-Patients and In-Patients Departments for General Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology/Obstetrics, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Urology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Anesthesia, Psychiatry, Radiology, Pathology, Dentistry, Physiotherapy and Vaccination Centre.

On 19th September, Gynae Department of Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital organized a Basic Laparoscopic Skills Workshop under the supervision of Head of Department, Prof. Fozia Umber Qureshi. The session focused on anterior abdominal wall anatomy, safe entry techniques, ergonomics, and the use of essential laparoscopic instruments. This workshop aimed to enhance surgical skills and ensure safer, more efficient practices for the benefit of our patients.

SICOT’s Annual Orthopaedic World Congress is a prestigious international event that gathers over 3,000 delegates from more than 110 countries to exchange knowledge, present research, and discuss the latest advances in orthopaedics and traumatology. At SICOT Madrid 2025, the Pakistani delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Amer Aziz (Chairman Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital). This participation made Pakistan proud by presenting 16 research papers. Among these, one was selected as the Best Paper and received the Best Paper Award!

This remarkable achievement reflects our commitment to advancing orthopaedic research, education, and patient care at a global level. Alhamdulillah, GTTH continues to raise the flag of excellence for our nation on the world stage.

World Physical Therapy Day 2025 at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital

The Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, (Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital) proudly celebrated World Physical Therapy Day with great enthusiasm and a spirit of learning.

The day began with research poster presentations on this year’s theme, Healthy Ageing. Our Rehabilitation House Officers presented their research letters, highlighting the significance, challenges and call to action for fall prevention and healthy ageing. Professors from across Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital graced the event and served as judges making it a highly productive and enriching academic activity.

The celebrations continued with a Walk for Healthy Ageing, followed by a joyful cake-cutting ceremony. Prizes were awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders along with shield distributions to organizers to recognize outstanding efforts.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our visionary leader Prof. Amer Aziz, (Chairman Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital), for his constant encouragement. His continued support remains a driving force for the institution’s growth and innovation. A special note of gratitude to Mr. Mohsin Ghurki for gracing the occasion with his inspiring presence, and reaffirming his commitment to strengthen academic and clinical excellence at GTTH.

We also convey special thanks to the professors of GTTH who honored the event with their presence, guidance, and participation as judges their mentorship and encouragement remain a cornerstone of our success.

The Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation at Ghurki Trust Teaching Hospital (GTTH) successfully organized a research-focused workshop on the theme “Beyond Original Article” for Rehabilitation House Officers (RHOs).

The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Dr. Usman. The workshop was skillfully moderated by Dr. Ayesha Kousar, who welcomed participants and shared the objectives of the event.

Dr. Hassan Bin Akram, Clinical Manager of the Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, delivered valuable insights on the significance of research in clinical practice and how young professionals can integrate evidence-based approaches into patient care.

Dr. Samreen Sadiq, Associate Professor, facilitated the workshop and led a highly engaging 2-hour hands-on session, where RHOs explored practical aspects of research writing and methodologies that go beyond conventional original articles.

The RHOs participated with great enthusiasm, actively engaging in discussions, asking questions, and showing keen interest in enhancing their research skills. The interactive environment fostered curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork, making the session a productive and inspiring academic activity.

The department extends heartfelt gratitude to the visionary Prof. Amer Aziz for his continuous encouragement and support in promoting research and academic excellence. Special thanks to Dr. Khurram Ijaz (MD), and Mr. Muhammad Naeem (COO) for their constant facilitation and support.
