To align mental health services in Pakistan with modern requirements, a four-day National Workshop on Training of Trainers for 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐮𝐬 (𝐏𝐌+) was organized by the Centre for Global Mental Health Research Implementations and Development (GRID) - IoP Rawalpindi Medical University at SKBZ CMH Muzaffarabad from April 14th to 17th. Mental health professionals from various institutions participated in the workshop. The aim was to develop experts nationwide who could gain proficiency in the World Health Organization (WHO)-approved PM+ program (a low-intensity psychological intervention for communities facing adversity) and extend it to the community level. After completing the training, these experts will also train frontline workers and non-specialist service providers, particularly in areas heavily affected by humanitarian crises.

During the workshop, participants received practical training, including role-play sessions. These sessions were used to assess participants’ skills, with trained research staff observing their performance using standardized checklists.

The project is being conducted under the supervision of the University of York (UK) with financial support from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). Experts from the University of York, University of Liverpool, Human Development Research Foundation, and the Institute of Psychiatry at Rawalpindi Medical University, Pakistan, are involved.

National Roundtable on Mental Health Legislative Reforms was held today in Islamabad. The purpose was to create a
working document to identify rights-based gaps and implementation challenges within the existing legislation in accordance with the legislative development framework outlined in the Guidance on Mental Health, Human Rights and Legislation (WHO–OHCHR, 2023) as well as CRPD (Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities)

اس وسیع دنیا کے اندر Fountain House Pakistan ایک چھوٹا سا گھر جہاں ایک وسیع تر دنیا آباد ہے۔ لاہور میں قاٸم اس ادارے میں مقیم خواتین و افراد جو ذہنی صحت کے کسی نہ کسی مسٸلے سے دو چار ہیں انہیں ممبر کہا جاتا ہے۔ ان ممبران کے لیے جہاں دنیا دوزخ کی شکل اختیار کر جاتی ہے وہاں Fountain house زمین پر جنت کا ایک گوشہ ہے۔ ذہنی، نفسیاتی اور سماجی بحالی کے بہترین اصولوں پر چلنے والے پاکستان کا یہ ادارہ تقریباً چار سو افراد کے لیے گھر ہے۔
