🎉 Alumni Spotlight: Celebrating Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore 🎓
We are thrilled to honor Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore as our Alumnus of the Day! 🌟
Prof. Rathore has made remarkable contributions to the field of Pediatrics, leaving an indelible mark on the University of Child Health Sciences. He has served UCHS for 14 incredible years, as a professor, Dean, medical director, and project director, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare for children.
He did his M.B.B.S from King Edward Medical College, Lahore; MRCP (UK) from Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom; MRCPCH (UK) from Royal College of Pediatrics & Child Health, London, UK; and, FRCP (London) from Royal College of Physicians, London, UK.
But that's not all! Prof. Rathore's dedication and expertise have also led him to serve as the Vice Chancellor at the prestigious University of Health Sciences Lahore. Prof. Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore assumed the charge of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), on 26-07-2022. He is the 11th VC of the university. His visionary leadership has propelled the institution to new heights, fostering innovation and excellence in medical education.
As a professor of paediatrics Prof. Dr. Rathore has earned a distinguished reputation as a scholar, academician, and administrator. Prof. Dr. Rathore's unwavering commitment to improving child health and advancing medical education has earned him immense respect and admiration from his colleagues and students alike. His passion for nurturing young minds and his relentless pursuit of excellence have inspired countless individuals to follow in his footsteps.
He has exposure to international best practices about academic functions both in classroom teaching and research. He has published over 40 research publications in international and national medical journals.
The Children's Hospital was declared the best public sector hospital in Punjab during his tenure. He developed 26 paeds subspecialties and bed strength increased from 100 to 1100 beds.
In recognition of his services, he was appointed as Executive Director, Strategic Management and Internal Policy Unit of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, Punjab, where he was responsible for the operationalization of all public sector teaching institutions and medical universities concerning implementation and monitoring of Minimum Service Delivery Standards notified by the Punjab Healthcare Commission.
Dr. Rathore has a keen interest in charity work and was the president of the Patients Welfare Society at the Children’s Hospital Lahore for 14 years. He made a huge contribution to the collection of funds from philanthropists and then utilized them judiciously in different areas of patient care.
Today, we celebrate Prof. Ahsan Waheed Rathore for his outstanding achievements and the positive impact he has made in the field of Pediatrics and medical education. We are proud to call him one of our esteemed alumni, and we look forward to witness his continued success in the years to come.
