Fire extinguishers should be inspected regularly to ensure they are in working condition, especially during the rainy season. Moisture and humidity can cause rusting, pressure loss, or malfunction in extinguishers if not stored properly. It's crucial to check pressure gauges, ensure seals are intact, and keep units dry and accessible. Damaged or expired extinguishers should be replaced immediately. In the event of electrical fires during rain, a reliable extinguisher can prevent serious damage. Regular care and inspection can save lives and property.

🎲 A Bet That Cost a Life — Let’s Not Make Fun a Fatal Game

A 66-year-old man recently drowned in a canal—not by accident, but over a bet with friends. What started as casual horseplay ended in a heartbreaking tragedy.

This isn’t just about one poor decision. It’s about how we sometimes forget that life is not a game. Dares, bets, and reckless fun can quickly turn into irreversible loss.

💔 Let’s reflect:

A moment of laughter shouldn’t cost a lifetime.

Age, health, and water safety matter—never underestimate risks.

Friends must protect each other, not push each other into danger.

👉 Let’s encourage responsible behavior, especially around water bodies, rooftops, roads, and other high-risk areas. Fun should build memories, not funerals.

The ongoing monsoon rains in Pakistan have tragically claimed over 110 lives since late June, with children making up nearly half the toll—53 young lives lost.

According to government data, electrocution remains the leading cause of these deaths, followed by flash floods. These heartbreaking incidents serve as a stark reminder to stay away from electrical poles, damaged wires, and electric installations, including telephone connection distribution boxes (DBs), especially during and after rain.

Public awareness and precaution can save lives—please educate those around you and keep children safe from such hidden dangers.

Over 110 dead since late June as monsoon rains wreak havoc in Pakistan

Data from the national disaster agency between June 26 and July 14 showed that electrocution was the leading cause of fatalities, followed by flash floods.

“The combination of monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, and a strong westerly wave, will intensify rainfall across the country,” said a Met Office spokesperson. This dual weather system is likely to persist over the coming days.

A heartbreaking day marked by loss and reflection.

Within just one day, we are shaken by two tragic incidents — the devastating explosion in Saudi Arabia on July 10/11 that claimed 5 precious lives, and the painful boiler blast in Taxila, Rawalpindi, taking away two skilled and hardworking professionals.

These tragedies are more than just news — they are urgent reminders. Behind every accident are families left in sorrow, and lessons we must not ignore.

Let us honour their memory by strengthening our commitment to workplace safety.

Every life matters, and every precaution counts.

⚠️ 1.3 million people acquired HIV in 2024 alone, including thousands of adolescent girls and young women.

The numbers in Pakistan have also been increasing for the last few years.

Pre-hospital care providers must prioritize their safety so they remain safe before, during and after the care being delivered.

"True heroes don’t wear capes—they wear courage. We mourn the brave souls who gave their lives so others may live."

The tragic loss of two courageous rescue workers in Lahore is a solemn reminder that fire safety is not optional—it’s essential. Let’s honor their sacrifice by taking fire hazards seriously: check your wiring, keep extinguishers accessible, train your staff/family, and never ignore alarms.

Prevention saves lives.

Officials say the building was declared unsafe three years ago, yet neither the residents evacuated nor did the authorities take any enforcement action. Each floor of the building reportedly contained three apartments.

Karachi South Deputy Commissioner Javed Khoso confirmed that the building’s residents were served notices in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Of 107 dangerous buildings in the district, 21 are classified as highly hazardous, and 14 have already been vacated, he said, adding, “It would be premature to assign blame at this stage.”

۔CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)

(Chest Compressions)
(Rescue Breaths)
