📍 33-F Main Market, Gulberg II, Lahore In 1942, an Italian student of Botany who was a TB patient discovered that if a patient is sent to a hill-station for dwelling for a certain period, he might improve or cure because of low air- pressure and the gases released by the pine tree there. Obviously such dwelling could be afforded by rich persons only but the poor people just have to wait for their last day. In 1952, STREPTOMYCIN was the first medicine invented for the treatment of TB patient. This mycin combined with INH and PAS started curing a patient in 24 months or more
Subsequently another medicine ETHAMBUTOL was invented and added to the treatment. Thus the recovery period was reduced to 18 months
Thereafter more researches were made and RAFAMPICIN, ISONIAZID + PYRAZINAMIDE invented. All these medicines have been combined now + RIFIN FORTE is available in market. With its use a TB patient fully recovers within 6 to 8 months
