The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the largest of its kind in the country in managing oral cancer cases, proudly observed April as Oral Cancer Awareness Month under the supervision of Professor Dr Nabeela Riaz.Throughout the month, we conducted a series of impactful activities aimed at raising awareness and educating the public about the early signs, prevention, and treatment of oral cancer.
Our initiatives included academic discussions, social media campaigns, video messages from healthcare professionals, and distribution of informative brochures among the general public. These efforts were designed to empower individuals with knowledge and encourage early diagnosis, which is crucial in the fight against oral cancer.
The month-long awareness campaign culminated in a walk and a seminar, graced by the presence of our honourable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayyaz, who served as the Chief Guest for the occasion.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed professionals and experts from across the country who joined us and contributed significantly to the success of this campaign. Their presence and participation reflected a collective commitment to public health and cancer prevention.
Together, we can create meaningful change. The Department remains committed to continuing its efforts for the welfare of the people through education, early detection, and comprehensive care.
