Truth About Norway Pathway 🇳🇴
Please read before applying👇
Many doctors are currently asking about the process for Norway and what the current situation is for Pakistani doctors. I want to explain it clearly so they can make an informed decision.
If a Pakistani doctor is thinking about moving to Norway at this time, they should understand that the process is very time-consuming.
1. Authorization/Application Processing
• Earlier, the authorization (provisional license) used to take about Minimum 20 Months
• erleir it was 7-13 Months Now, the timeline has increased significantly.
2. Document Collection and Visa
• Collecting all required documents can take 4–5 months.
• waiting time after Applying for the visa usually takes about 1 year.
So, the total process may take around 3 to 3.5 years for someone starting now.
3. Cost
• The application fee itself is relatively low.
• However, you need to show proof of funds for the visa:
• Single applicant: approximately 50 LAC
• Family application: around 100 LAC
• After arriving, completing all documentation may take 2–3 months.
Minimum budget required 15-20 LAC .
4. Work and Language Requirements
• Once your paperwork is settled, you can start your odd job which is not Quite Easy and simultaneously learn the language.
• Passing the required language exams (B2 level) is mandatory.
5. Medical Licensing Exams
• After language proficiency, you must pass the national exams (FAG/National Medical Exam) and FAGPROVE complete the clinical assessments (MCQs and OSCE Test.
•after passing these exams will you receive full authorization to work as a doctor in Norway.
6. Time Limits
• All tests and exams must be completed within 2 years after arrival.
Conclusion / Recommendation:
Given the long timeline, high cost, and strict requirements, I currently do not recommend that doctors apply for Norway unless they are fully prepared for the commitment.
As an alternative, doctors can consider applying for MPH programs in Norway:
• This is a faster and easier option to come to Norway.
• You can study your degree and later pursue PHD .
