*Tips on promoting healthy eating in kids 1* :
*"Let go of CLEAN YOUR PLATE mentality"*

Although you might think telling your child to eat and clean the plate forcefully could help your child get the nutrients needed from food, these behaviours can lead to disliking foods and having negative associations with mealtime. If you can’t get your child to eat their veggies, try to have them see you eating and enjoying them yourself. Your little one learns about food choices from you, so try to encourage them as much as you can. You can also try by offering small amounts of a fruit or vegetable with another healthy food they like or asking them to pick out a new one to try out together. Arranging fruits and vegetables in fun and colourful shapes can also help them look appealing on the plate. It’s important to remember that it can take a number of tries for children to try and enjoy new foods.

Too much milk is stopping your child's growth

A very common situation. Many parents make this mistake of giving their children a large amount of milk as their primary diet. This actually harms the child as the child gets full on milk and doesn't eat the right amount of solid food.
Medically speaking, a child does not need milk after 2 years of age but rather he/she needs solid food like meat, rice and roti. If their primary diet remains milk it can have many side effects including
* Anemia.
* Decreased height
* decreased weight
* weakness
* bone and muscular pains.

*Therefore protect your babies and give them proper diet*

This is a mistake I see every day in all my patients specially in the winters. Often times mothers will be complaining that the child keeps crying too much and when you check the child will be covered In 4-5 layers of sweaters and shirts. Even though parents do this to protect the child from cold this ends up irritating and sometimes even hurting the child.
Some important things to remember are that
1: NEVER make your baby specially younger kids wear high necks. They have a very fragile airway and it creates breathing issues for the child
2 instead of multiple layers go for a soft shirt and then covered with one effective and warm jacket or sweater.
3 the main part to cover if you want to protect your child is their head.
4 avoid any clothes with rough stuff as their skin is very sensitive and easily irritated.
Try this and see the difference in how comfortable your baby becomes and stops crying.
