Hypertension awareness walk was conducted at Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital to highlight the importance of awareness, early detection, and collective action.

Hypertension (high blood pressure) occurs when the pressure in your blood vessels is too high (140/90 mmHg or higher). While common, it can become life-threatening if left untreated. Most people with hypertension experience no symptoms, making regular blood pressure monitoring essential.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 1.4 billion adults aged 30–79 years worldwide were living with hypertension in 2024, representing nearly 33% of the population in this age group.

A simple blood pressure check can help prevent serious complications including heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease. Prioritizing healthier lifestyles, routine screening, and timely medical care can save lives.

The grand inauguration of MAGCON 2026 was successfully held on 30th March 2026 at the Gulab Devi Auditorium, marking the beginning of an inspiring academic journey dedicated to medical excellence, innovation, and collaboration.

We were honored by the presence of Prof. Dr Khalid Masud Gondal (President CPSP) as Chief Guest, along with Prof. Dr Hamid Hassan (Chief Executive/MS GDTH & Principal, Al-Aleem Medical College) and Dr Abid Ali (Executive Director GDEC and AAMC), whose leadership continues to strengthen academic and clinical initiatives.
