Young Doctors Association Pakistan We are the young doctors of Pakistan; mainly house officers and Post Graduate Trainees, who have realized that we have to unite to protect our rights.

YDA was created accidently in JULY 2008 at Mayo Hospital Lahore due to a Wheat Pill poisoning case in Mayo Emergency under the Dynamic Leadership of Dr Salman Kazmi,Dr Rana Sohail,Dr Talha Shewani,Dr Lala Rukh,Dr Sarmad Waqas etc for the rights,protection and living and Serving with honor to save the Lives...We the Young Doctors Of Pakistan feel proud n pleasure that an association which was made in near past(july 2008) has progressed so quickly to far frm areas,frm a Hospital(MAYO) to Cities,to Districts,to regions,to provinces AT ALL PAKISTAN LEVEL.Hats off! Upon request of YDA Pakistan, the Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly has finally submitted a requisition for an assembly session!

Agenda will include TWO major issues of Healthcare Professionals:

2. The brutal police torture on doctors and paramedics peacefully demonstrating at chairing cross, Lahore in front of Punjab Assembly building.

8. Privatization of Health Sector specially BHUs, RHCs

YDA Pakistan stands with its Doctors, Nurses and Paramedical Staff.

Govts. should listen to the concerns that healthcare community has raised about privatization. Peaceful protest is the right of any community in Pakistan. Arresting, torturing and supressing the voices is not a solution to the problem.

Since privatization of Govt. Hospitals would have a direct impact on both the healthcare community and patients, it should never be done before having a proper dialogue, and nullifying the drastic effects that it would bring to healthcare professionals.

YDA Pakistan will keep raising voice for the rights of its Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics and welfare of the patients!
