Research is an integral part of modern medical learning. Evidence based medicine is being highlighted at all levels of medical education. As research forms the basis for evidence based medicine, it is important not just for the researchers to be aware of research protocols and methodologies, but equally important for the clinicians. Keeping this thing in mind SPWS decided to take initiative of opening a platform for undergraduate students where they can
work with experienced graduate and post-graduate medical students and develop research skills which will be helpful later in their careers.It was 24th of august 2009, when the proposal of research wing was unanimously approved by the cabinet and executive council of SPWS. After completing few research projects and co-authoring a book, SPWS Research Council has decided to launch its free membership for all students at auspicious occasion of 150th anniversary of KEMU.
