Yes, a spoonful of honey a day is good for you.

But wait!

Don’t scroll down yet. There’s a caveat.

Not all honeys are created equal. Some are much better for you than others, and can offer a suite of delicious benefits for your health.
The Quran explains how honey is a food of Paradise:

وَ اَنۡہٰرٌ مِّنۡ عَسَلٍ مُّصَفًّی ؕ

“And rivers of refined honey."(Al-Quran, 47:15)

Honey has been used for several centuries in many countries as a treatment of disease, even before knowledge existed on the causes of infection.
It has been known to be very effective in almost all cases of infection and for the promotion of healing especially in burn injury and wounds.
As narrated by the Companion Abū Hurayrah رَضِىَ الـلّٰـهُ عَـنْهُ, the Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said, “Whoever consumes honey in three mornings of each month will not endure any serious calamity.”
(Sunan Ibn Mājah: 3450)
