The Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM) proudly held the Oath-Taking Ceremony of its newly inducted Executive Council and newly elected Chapter Heads, marking the beginning of a new era of leadership, collaboration, and commitment to advancing internal medicine across Pakistan and beyond.
The distinguished Prof. Aftab Mohsin officially assumed the role of President PSIM, succeeding with a vision to further strengthen academic excellence, professional development, and research initiatives within the society. The ceremony also witnessed the formal induction of Prof. Aziz Ur Rehman as President Elect (2027–2029), along with a dynamic and accomplished team of senior office bearers.
The newly appointed Executive Council includes:
Senior Vice Presidents: Prof. Tariq Waseem (Academics), Prof. Bikharam Devrajani (Research), Prof. Aamir Ghafoor Khan (International Relations), and Prof. Somia Iqtadar (Operations).
Secretary General: Prof. Munir Ahmad Azhar
Treasurer: Prof. Sajid Abaidullah
Vice Presidents: Prof. Muhammad Umar (Federal Capital), Prof. Aamir Shaukat (Central Punjab), Prof. Qazi Masroor Ali (South Punjab), Prof. Hakim Ali Abro (Sindh), Prof. Salma Zeb (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Dr. Muhammad Saleem Khan (AJ&K & GB), and Prof. Zulfiqar Ali (Overseas).
Additionally, Joint Secretary Dr. Wafa Qaisar, Information Secretary Dr. Hina Latif, and Coordination Secretary Dr. Sami Ullah Mumtaz took their oaths alongside the newly elected Chapter Heads from across Pakistan and abroad.
The event celebrated unity, dedication, and the shared mission of PSIM to elevate medical education, research, and patient care nationwide. The new leadership pledged to continue PSIM’s legacy of service and innovation in internal medicine.
