Workshop on Qualitative Research in Medical Education📚
The Department of Medical Education, Ameer-ud-Din Medical College/ PGMI/ Lahore General Hospital, successfully conducted a comprehensive and engaging workshop on “Qualitative Research in Medical Education” as part of the ongoing Faculty Development Program 2026 — Empowering Faculty, Enriching Futures.
The session was facilitated by Prof. Lubna Baig, Director PhD Medical Education Program, University College of Medicine, who delivered an in-depth and highly interactive session. The workshop focused on building a strong conceptual foundation of qualitative research, highlighting its importance in exploring complex educational and healthcare phenomena that cannot be fully addressed through quantitative methods alone.
Key areas covered during the session included:
• Fundamentals and philosophical underpinnings of qualitative research
• Study designs such as phenomenology, grounded theory, and case studies
• Development of research questions suitable for qualitative inquiry
