Visited Walled City of Lahore Authority, Lahore on special Invitation. Mr. Avais Raza received on behalf of DG and showed different sections of the Authority. At the end, on behalf of Director General Walled City of Lahore Authority, an Atlas on Lahore Fort and Souvenirs were presented.

These indian made ice tablets (نشہ آور گولیاں) are being smuggled from Afghanistan.

Presently lying in bulk across Landikotal area.

Smugglers are trying to get them to settled areas of Pakistan and they will make their way to schools and colleges.

These are cheap with sweet taste and kids are likely to get attracted.

There are chances of spreading them through tuck shops etc.

Parents & elders to take precaution and keep an eye on their children and brief them with pictures.

Particularly the schools also must keep a watch on the tuck shops in their premises.

World Hepatitis Day is marked to increase the awareness and understanding of viral hepatitis and the diseases that it causes. It provides an opportunity to focus on specific actions such as:

strengthening prevention, screening and control of viral hepatitis and its related diseases;

increasing hepatitis B vaccine coverage and integration into national immunization programmes; and

coordinating a global response to hepatitis.

Hepatitis viruses A, B, C, D and E can cause acute and chronic infection and inflammation of the liver leading to cirrhosis and liver cancer. These viruses constitute a major global health risk with around 240 million people being chronically infected with hepatitis B and around 150 million people being chronically infected with hepatitis C.
