UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 Advocate – Canadian Delegation Member
Umair Ahad is a Canadian development professional specializing in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), international cooperation, and policy planning. He has represented Canada at major UN forums, including two High-Level Political Forums (HLPF) in New York and the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2) in Doha.
Umair collaborates with global partners such as UN agencies, the EU, Qatar Foundation, Qatar University, and China’s Silk Road NGO Program. He also advises the National Centre for Sustainable Development & Innovation (NCSDI) at UET Peshawar.
In Canada, Umair leads community programs supporting refugees, women, youth, and multicultural communities, with a focus on poverty reduction, climate resilience, social inclusion, and anti-racism. He brings strong international experience and community leadership to advance sustainable and inclusive development.
