A Growing Concern in Community Pharmacies
During my experience as a Clinical Pharmacist and Community Pharmacy Owner, I've observed an alarming trend - the misuse and abuse of medications like Tonoflex-P and Topento-IR.
These medicines, originally intended for pain relief and neuropathic conditions, are being used by drug abusers and addicts for their sedative and euphoric effects. Unfortunately, many pharmacies continue to dispense them without a valid prescription, contributing to a silent but serious public health issue.
Pharmacists must act responsibly - these are not routine painkillers. They require strict prescription control and counseling before dispensing.
Let's promote rational drug use and stop over-the-counter sale of such controlled or abuse-prone medications.
Together, we can play a crucial role in preventing substance misuse at the community level.
