Congratulations to Melaine D’Cruz, Director of the Research Office in Pakistan, for receiving the NCURA Emerging Excellence in Research Administration Award!

This award honours emerging leaders who are making a real difference in research administration — and Melaine is doing just that.

With over 20 years of experience, beginning at AKU’s Institute for Educational Development, Melaine has honed her expertise in strategic planning and leadership. Since becoming Director of the Research Office in June 2023, she has prioritized strengthening research governance at AKU, with the development of a five-year research strategy as a cornerstone of her recent work.

Through her work, Melaine is making a lasting impact — in the university and in the communities we serve.

We’re proud to celebrate this achievement and look forward to what she does next.
