Post dedicated to my colleagues in medicine. Sharing my personal feelings and reflection as a neurosurgeon.

Sometimes in medicine, we face cases where the risks are extraordinarily high–complex surgeries, critical anatomy, or disease processes that leave very little margin for error. Even when you prepare meticulously and do everything within your training and skill, things can take a turn that no one wants to see.

As caregivers, we carry those outcomes deeply. They stay with us in ways that are hard to describe. But in these moments, it’s important to remember the many patients who did remarkably well despite the odds, whose recoveries were a testament to perseverance and teamwork.

If you find yourself struggling after a difficult outcome, know that you are not alone. This path we chose is filled with both triumph and heartbreak. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep fighting for the best possible outcomes for those who trust us with their lives.

Stay compassionate. Stay committed. Keep moving forward.

Very interesting figures of global research institution. We can see that Chinese institutes are leading. I still remember my time in China, everything was so convenient if anybody wanted to take an initiative and do research. Chinese have been investing tremendously in R&D and I'm quite sure that Chinese will continue to lead in academia in the coming years as well.
