Hereโs how to calculate insulin resistance:
Multiply your fasting glucose levels (in mg/dL) by your fasting insulin levels (in ฮผU/mL), then divide the result by 405.
This gives you a measurement of insulin resistance (called HOMA-IR), which shows you how bad your body is at reducing glucose spikes.
And hereโs a quick guide to understand your result:
๐ If less than 2: no insulin resistance (great!)
๐ If 2-2.9: early insulin resistance
๐ If more than 3: significant insulin resistance
