The Research Division Pakistan Pediatric Association is pleased to announce “Call for Proposals” for research on common & important Pediatric problems.

Priority research areas for this year are

Malnutrition in Children
Newborn Health

Timeline: Deadline for submission of research proposal is 22nd September 2024.

Minimum Duration for Study / Research: 06 Months

Award for Top 3 Best Proposals: Up to 500,000 PKR

Procedure:

Principal Investigator (PI) must have a contract of employment with their organization for the total duration of the grant.
He / She shall be member of Pakistan Pediatric Association. Co-investigators may be from other discipline like Dentistry, MPH, and Nursing etc.
The Study must be Multi-Centered (in 2 or more Provinces).
All proposals, including budget, will be reviewed and shortlisted by a committee.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend & present their proposal in 27th Biannual Conference 2024 (31st Oct – 2nd Nov 2024) for the grant of award by award/selection committee.

The Research Division Pakistan Pediatrics Association (PPA-RD) in collaboration with the Office of Research Initiation and Commercialization (ORIC) at Khyber Medical University is pleased to announce the 1st round of “call for proposals” to promote research in the field of Pediatrics in line with the mandate of PPA.

Timelines: The current call is open for the below listed two categories of Pediatric priority areas. The deadline for submission is 25th May, 2024.

Minimum duration: 06 months
Award for the Top 3 best Proposals: Up to 0.5 Million PKR

Eligibility criteria:

Principal Investigator (PI) must have a contract of employment with their organization for the total duration of the grant before application.
MBBS, BDS, MPH, MSc Epi & Bio, MHR, BSN, BSPH, FCPS, or any other relevant qualification.
Short-listed applicants will be invited to attend the upcoming PPA conference which is scheduled on the 1st -2nd June 2024 to further refine their proposals for stage 2.

The Pre-Conference Workshop on “Research Proposal Development” held as a part of the 21st National Pediatric Conference brought together a distinguished panel of guest speakers, including Dr. Amin Jan,Dr. Tufail Muhammad, Dr. Sher Bahadur, Dr. Rubeena, Dr. Fatima & Dr. Nehal Sher Khan. The workshop aimed to enhance the research and proposal development skills of pediatric healthcare professionals.

The “Proposal Development Workshop” was a resounding success, equipping pediatric healthcare professionals with the essential skills needed to develop impactful research proposals. The diverse expertise of the guest speakers, coupled with interactive sessions, ensured that participants left the workshop with a deeper understanding of the intricacies involved in crafting high-quality research proposals.

The Research Division Pakistan Pediatric Association is soliciting proposals from its members to be considered for funding. Preference will be given to multicenter research proposals and addressing common child health problems and pediatric health delivery systems. The proposal should be focused on the following thematic areas:

1-Nutrition and Malnutrition
2- Infectious Diseases
3-Childhood Immunization
4-Neonatal Morbidity and Mortality
5-Child Abuse and Neglect
6-Developmental Disorders and mental health issues
7-Environmental Health /Climate Change
8-Genetic Disorders

Project on EPI Disease Surveillance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Research Division Pakistan Pediatric Association announced the official launch of the project on EPI Disease Surveillance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a collaborative effort between the Research Division PPA and Northern Health Care Pvt Ltd.

The project’s formal inception was marked by the signing of the project agreement, that saw Prof. Dr. Amin Jan, Chairman of the Research Division PPA, and Prof. Dr. Tufail Muhammad from the same division, along with Dr. Sajjad Dawar from Northern Health Care Pvt Ltd., to ink the initiative on 8th September 2023.

This collaborative endeavor represents a significant step forward in our commitment to improving public health and bolstering disease surveillance in the Khyber Pakhunkhwa. We look forward to a productive partnership and making a positive impact on the health and well-being of the Children of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
