Medical Trainee Technologist Programme
Aga Khan University Hospital offer a one-year Medical Technologist Training Programme that seeks to build the skills of young laboratory professionals and recruit the best candidates from the programme. This training includes classroom/e-lectures and hands-on bench training. Eligible candidates are those having a BSc/BS/MSc in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or an equivalent qualification such as BS/MSc in microbiology, physiology, biochemistry, genetics, or a relevant degree in clinical diagnostics, with a minimum of first division or CGPA 2.5+/4. Fresh graduates in the past two years are preferred.
Applicants are selected through an intense process of written assessment followed by a panel interview of shortlisted candidates. The site of training will be the clinical laboratory in Karachi but those selected for Stat or regional labs will complete their last six months in the respective laboratory which are located at Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Multan, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Quetta. A stipend is paid during the entire training programme. Based on merit, selected candidates may be offered jobs at any of our laboratories after completion of this training.
