Genomic Surveillance of the Covid-19 causing virus was the stimulus that caused the creation of the Genomics lab at Khyber Medical University.
With limited resources, no direct training, and extremely challenging NGS workflow of Whole Genome Sequencing on the Latest Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) MinION was what were facing back in 2021.
We did that miracle, the First WGS of SARS-CoV-2, in our inhouse facility, from Library prep to analysis, and we celebrated that day.
We never stopped after that, and when the pandemic was gone, despite immense challenges, we still managed to sustain this wonderful facility, we will never stop.
