Necrotizing Wound Infection with Subcutaneous Emphysema in a Canine Patient

A critical case was presented involving a canine patient exhibiting extensive necrotic wounds, putrid odor, and palpable subcutaneous crepitus, accompanied by a severe hyperthermia of 108°F

The clinical presentation strongly suggested a gas-producing anaerobic infection, likely clostridial myonecrosis.
Immediate intervention included:
Aggressive wound debridement
Initiation of fluid therapy and thermoregulation..
Broad-spectrum antimicrobial coverage...
Surgical Wound management...

This case underscores the necessity for rapid recognition and decisive management in life-threatening necrotizing infections. Delays in appropriate antimicrobial therapy or surgical intervention can drastically impact outcomes.

Feline Urinary Obstruction Case – Resolved

Attended a case of a male cat with complete urinary blockage and blood-tinged urine. The bladder was distended and the cat was in significant distress.

Performed catheterization and bladder flushing under controlled conditions. Over the next 24–36 hours, the urine gradually cleared, and normal flow resumed. Blood traces in the urine resolved as inflammation reduced and the urinary tract recovered.

Timely intervention was critical in saving this patient from a potentially fatal crisis.

Successfully Managed a Severe Mandibular Degloving Injury in a Kitten...

A tiny patient came in with the skin of the lower jaw completely stripped from the mandible—a classic degloving injury. After emergency stabilization, I performed surgical debridement and primary closure using a local flap.

Today, that kitten is eating, grooming, and healing beautifully.

This is the power of timely surgical intervention.
