"Esophagitis".
Esophagitis is a condition where the esophagus (the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach) becomes inflamed. This can be caused by:
1. Acid reflux (GERD)
2. Infections (such as candida or herpes)
3. Irritation from food or drinks
4. Allergic reactions
5. Medications (such as antibiotics or NSAIDs)
6. Radiation therapy
Symptoms include:
- Chest pain or discomfort
- Difficulty swallowing
- Heartburn
- Regurgitation of food
- Coughing or wheezing
- Hoarseness
