Successful First Uterine AVM Embolization at Aria Hospital, Quetta
A 20-year-old female with a history of heavy per-vaginal bleeding was evaluated with MRI, which revealed a large uterine arteriovenous malformation (AVM).
The patient was referred to Aria Hospital, Quetta, by her gynecologist for interventional management.
For the first time at Aria Hospital, a uterine AVM embolization was successfully performed by Dr. Nasrullah Yaqoob, Consultant Interventional Radiologist.
The procedure was completed without complications, and the patient showed significant clinical improvement.
With the successful introduction of this advanced interventional radiology service, patients in Quetta and surrounding areas no longer need to travel to other cities for uterine AVM embolization.
This marks a milestone in expanding minimally invasive, organ-preserving treatment options for complex gynecological vascular conditions in the region.
