Al-Shifa Eye Bank Established First Eye Bank of Pakistan of International Standards at Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Ra Donating your eyes (cornea) after death is a noble gesture.

Al-Shifa Eye Bank of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital is Pakistan’s biggest cornea transplant center where an estimated 800 corneas are transplanted annually. After the transplant, patients can get their vision back again. An estimated 2 million people suffer from blindness in Pakistan. Out of which around 2 lac individuals suffer with diseases of cornea. The vision of such patients can be easily recov

ered through corneal transplant. Since we do not have a national level eye banking system, therefore all the corneas are imported from abroad. The supply cannot match the huge demand for corneal transplantation. To address the shortage of corneal tissue, Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital has established an advanced eye bank, where people can submit their will for donating cornea. Al-Shifa Eye Bank is registered with Punjab Human Organ Transplantation Authority, Government of the Punjab. Your donation can bring light to a blind person’s life.

Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Sukkur has successfully performed another 4 cornea transplants for deserving local patients. Today, during their post-op follow-up, we're thrilled to report that all procedures were a resounding success.

Since September 2023, we've had the privilege of performing a total of 21 cornea transplants, completely free of charge. This wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of our dedicated team and the generosity of our donors.

At Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Sukkur, our mission is to bring vision and hope to those in need, and with each successful surgery, we're one step closer to fulfilling that vision.
