Don't wait for a problem!
Visit your Ophthalmologist regularly so we can keep your eyes in the best health!

[09/02/21]   Just wanted to share some basic information regarding Children's Eye problems.

1.All Children should have an eye test at 3 years of age.
2.If you suspect your child has an eye problem then visit an Ophthalmologist sooner rather than later.
3.Trust your instincts! If you feel there is any eye related issue do not ignore it.
4.If there is a strong family history of eye disease then again opt for an early check up.
5.The important thing is for your child to see clearly! Glasses should be worn if required.
6.Follow the advice of your Ophthalmologist and get regular checkups to prevent future eye problems.
7.Please reduce screen time especially mobile phones. I cannot stress this enough! As a parent only you can ensure this!
8.Your child should study at a desk with good lighting and proper posture.

It's so important to remove eyemakeup properly especially mascara. Over the years the mascara deposits can get embedded in your eyelids and cause irritation and redness.

This is World Glaucoma Week 2021

The main goal of this campaign is to inform everyone about the disease ‘glaucoma’ and encourage the general public to go and get an eye examination.
Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of irreversible blindness, but with early treatment, the damage may get limited and sight may be saved.

Regular testing glaucoma patients and involving their relatives is very important as the chances of them getting glaucoma are 10 times higher than someone with no glaucoma history in their close family environment.

Therefore World Glaucoma Week is a great opportunity to raise awareness through word of mouth.

What is glaucoma?

Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that cause progressive damage of the optic nerve at the point where it leaves the eye to carry visual information to the brain.

Once incurred, visual damage is mostly irreversible, and this has led to glaucoma being described as the “silent blinding disease” or the “sneak thief of sight”.
