Paracetamol suspension (syrup)
What it’s used for?
Fever (pyrexia)
Mild to moderate pain: headache, toothache, body aches, post-vaccination fever, sore throat
Dose (Children)
Standard dose: 10–15 mg per kg body weight per dose, every 6–8 hours
Maximum: 4 doses in 24 hours
Common syrup strengths
120 mg / 5 mL
250 mg / 5 mL
Adults (if suspension is used)
500–1000 mg per dose
Every 6–8 hours
Maximum 4,000 mg/day
How to give
Shake bottle well before use
Use a proper measuring spoon or syringe
Can be given with or without food
Important precautions
⚠️ Do not exceed the recommended dose
Avoid combining with other medicines containing paracetamol
Use cautiously in liver disease, chronic alcohol use
If fever lasts >3 days or pain >5 days consult a doctor
