A freshly sharpened straight razor for Jennifer Robin

I started by removing all of the rust. Then, I thoroughly cleaned the entire blade and "scales" or "handle" as well. To sharpen the blade, I progressed through various "whetstones" up to a 12,000-grit Japanese whetstone.

(A 12,000-grit whetstone makes a blade extremely sharp)

Sharpening old knives or straight razors is a side-hobby for me.

For a final touch, this straight razor was sharpened on a leather "strap" or "stropped" to make the final edge extra smooth and shiny.

For longevity, I applied a thin layer of anti-rust oil to this blade.

Two straight edge razors for sale. All handmade, by yours truly. 280€ each, with international tracked postage included. One with birch handle, and the other with walnut, both with a brass hinge pin. These are based on some old style Eskilstuna straight razors from the turn of the century, just made with proper Norwegian steel, Øberg, instead. About 5 mm thick at the spine, 20 mm tall and 75 mm edge. Shot me a DM if you're interested.
