Some Clicks from the occasion of excellent Lecture on Diabetic Neuropathy by Prestigious President PSIM Respected Sir Prof.Dr.Aftab Mohsin Sb And Launch of First Oral Semaglutide in Pakistan at Serena Faisalabad.
It was such a wonderful interactive learning experience.
And the same day SEMAGLUTIDE if being approved by the FDA for treatment and beneficial outcomes for MASH , MASLD and now we have Resmetirome And Semaglutide two of them luckily available in Pakistan.
The ESSENCE Phase 3 trial tested semaglutide 2.4 mg weekly in MASH with stage 2–3 fibrosis.
At 72 weeks, 62.9% achieved steatohepatitis resolution vs 34.3% on placebo.
Fibrosis improvement occurred in 36.8% vs 22.4% placebo.
Patients lost ~10.5% body weight vs 2% with placebo.
Side effects were mainly mild GI, with low discontinuation rates.
Based on these results, FDA granted accelerated approval of Wegovy for MASH.
