Assalam-o-alaikum, This is Dr. Badar Sabir Ali, FCPS (Fellow College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan) and MRCGP (Member Royal College of General Practitioners) and a retired Associate Professor of Family Medicine, Aga Khan University. As a family practitioner, I’ve been involved in Directive Counselling of patients for diseases of lifestyle, immunization and contraception etc for over 50 years. Post retirement, I’ve had formal training in Non-Directive Counselling and have been certified by CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body, UK) as a psychotherapist/counsellor in 2015, and since then have been practicing face-to-face counselling. I have recently received a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling from Counselling Tutor UK.
Being mindful of concerns regarding Covid-19, I have moved on to online counselling and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future. I will be offering online/telephone appointments/consultations and will be as accommodating as possible regarding time, maintaining privacy and providing continuity of care.
