Termites won't eat your car, but if they choose your tire as a highway, it means they're already inside your soil — and possibly your home.

Termites (especially subterranean termites) build mud shelter tubes to travel safely from the soil to a food source while protecting themselves from:
Sunlight
Open air
Predators
In this photo, these mud tubes are formed on the surface of the tire and rim, which means:
1) The termites were using your car’s tire merely as a pathway or bridge.
2) They are not feeding on the tire — rubber is not a food source for termites.
3) They are probably heading toward something wooden nearby, such as:
4) A door frame or window frame near the parking area
5) Wooden debris, tree roots, or moisture-retaining soil
6) Structural wood in your boundary wall or home
📌 Why did termites climb the tire?
Because:
1) Your car stayed parked for several days (4–5 days undisturbed).
2) The tire touches the ground, giving termites a direct surface to climb.
3) They sensed a potential wood source above ground — often garage doors, wooden shelves, or structure.
Termites don’t care what they climb, it will be a metal, rubber, concrete, as long as the path leads to cellulose (wood).
