Ingredients:
- 4 chicken tikka cuts
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons tandoori masala spice mix
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- olive oil spray (for brushing)
- Fresh cilantro (coriander) leaves, chopped (for garnish)
- cucumbers, tomatoes and onions(for serving)
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the yogurt, tandoori masala spice mix, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric, cayenne pepper, and salt. This mixture is your tandoori marinade.
2. Make shallow cuts on the chicken pieces to help the marinade pe*****te.
3. Coat the chicken pieces with the marinade, ensuring they're well-covered. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
4. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
5. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip off.
6. Lightly brush the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking.
7. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket, making sure they're not overcrowded.
8. Air fry the chicken at 375°F (190°C) for about 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through. The exact time will depend on the thickness of your chicken pieces. They should be cooked through and nicely browned.
9. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the air fryer. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with cucumbers and tomato.
10. Enjoy your delicious homemade air fryer tandoori chicken with naan, rice, or a side salad!
(Note: Cooking times may vary based on the type and model of your air fryer. Always ensure the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature of 165°F/74°C.
