https://zurl.co/lNved A multicentre randomised trial in Japan found that targeting a high mean arterial pressure (80–85 mmHg) in patients aged 65 or older with septic shock significantly increased 90-day mortality compared to the standard target (65–70 mmHg). Despite early vasopressin use to limit catecholamine exposure, the high-target group experienced more adverse events and no clinical benefit across any subpopulation, including those with chronic hypertension.
