🌿Towards Yourself — on the inner dialogue
Today’s post is part of my ongoing series of reflections on emotions, psychotherapy, and restoring balance.
This time I’m writing about something that accompanies us every day — the way we speak to ourselves.
Many people are gentle, patient, and understanding toward others…
but speak to themselves in a harsh or unforgiving way.
Our inner dialogue can fuel tension, anxiety, or guilt.
It can repeat old messages that no longer serve us — yet the body still reacts as if they were true.
In therapy, we often begin by noticing this voice.
Not to silence it,
but to understand it — and gradually transform it into one that is more supportive, compassionate, and true.
Because what you say to yourself matters.
Especially when things are hardest.
